Pe masura ce firmele de analiza incearca sa dezvolte noi modalitati care sa reflecte cum sunt updatate paginile frecvent, "live" de catre gazda, modalitatea de a masura popularitatea acestor site-uri s-a schimbat.Nielsen Netratings este una dintre firmele de top care isi castiga existenta spunandu-le advertiserilor si publisher-ilor ce mai fac utilizatorii de web. Aceasta companie a anuntat astazi ca se va concentra mai putin pe numarul de vizualizari al unei pagini si mai mult pe timpul total petrecut pe site.Aceste noi metode sunt similiare modalitatilor prin careaudienta TV este masurata- nu prin activitatea de "butonare" a oamenilor de pe un program pe altul, ci prin activitatea de a ramane ceva mai mult asupra unui program si al urmari.Tehnologiile Rich Internet Application (RIA), cum ar fi AJAX si streaming(audio/video si alte continuturi cum ar fit abele de scor pentru sport si buletine de bursa live), au largit cu mult experienta consumatorilor si propun provocari majore sistemului de masurarare al audientei Internet.AJAX da refresh continutului fara sa reincarce intreaga pagina si streaming-ul ofera continut dinamic schimbabil printr-o singura pagina sau un media player- a explicat un comunicat de presa de la Nielsen Netratings ieri .Comunicatul de presa Nielsen Netratings a avorbit de asemenea si de site-urile de tip retea sociala- MySpace si YouTube. Raportul timpului petrecut pe aceste site-uri este de 3.6 la 1 insa, raportul paginilor vizualizate este mult mai mare 10.4 la 1.Vizitatorii Youtube petrec mai mult la o pagina decat cei care vizualizeaza pagini MySpace, deoarece acestia in principiu urmaresc videoclipuri si necesita mai putine refresh-uri pe pagina.In mai site-urile care se aflau in fruntea clasamentului celor mai vizionate 10 site-uri, au fost: Media Network, Yahoo! si MSN/Windows Live.
